A Rick's Place volunteer facilitator helps to create an environment of safety and healing for grieving children and teens by offering structured and unstructured activities and encouragement of group sharing. Volunteers work in teams of 2-3 individuals with groups of 8-10 children/teens.
Our On-site Program meets every other Tuesday evening throughout the school year. Volunteers must commit to being present from 5:30-9:00 for each meeting.
Volunteers with a background and/or experience in social work, mental health and education are encouraged to apply.
All applicants must be interviewed and agree to a background check.
An intensive, mandatory training will take place during the weekend of Sept. 8-10.
All services to grieving children, teens and families are free of charge. Our faithful, caring and skilled volunteers allow us to continue this important work.
